A balanced diet consists in a variety of foods that will enable our body to get nourished, while maintaining a healthy level.
How is this related to water?
Well, water is the solvent of all the food we eat. It is also the medium by which all chemical reactions related to digestion happen.
Water and Balanced Diet
It is true that we get part of the needed water from the food we eat. That’s why a balanced diet containing more fruit and vegetables and fewer proteins will be healthier than a diet that can deplete the body from our vital liquid. Check the Water Nutrition Facts
Eating a balanced diet daily means a ratio of 20% meets and 80% vegetables: legumes and fruits, with as little starch and sugar as possible.
pH Balance and acid alkaline producing foods
A balanced diet is also related to maintaining the pH balance in our body, without which we cannot survive. The best way in doing this is to eat more alkaline less acid producing foods. In fact, your body needs a ph balance of acidic and alkaline producing foods, which is 75% alkaline foods and 25% acidic.
Alkaline producing foods:
- almost all vegetables, including sea vegetables
- almost all fruits including all citrus fruits (lemon, grapefruit, orange)
- protein giving vegetables like nuts and seeds
- non-alcoholic drinks like: fresh fruit and vegetables juices, organic, unpasteurized milk, teas and mineral water
Acid producing foods:
- all animal meets, including seafood
- all fats including dairy products, and oils – excluding the coconut oil
- almost all nuts
- beans
- alcoholic beverages, bread and pastas
last but not least,
- all drugs, chemicals, herbicides and pesticides, known to be present in non-organic foods and processed foods!
Vitamins and Minerals are a “must” part of a balanced diet
Do your digestion a huge favor?
- Fruits and vegetables are a must in a balanced diet, because they provide the natural vitamins and essential minerals we need, in the organic form which is the only form our body can assimilate.
– In the photosynthesis process plants use energy from the sun and the ground to transform dissolved inorganic minerals into organic ones. They help support the pH balance of the body, and are an excellent source of energy. - Vitamins and minerals are vital for the body’s function and each one plays a different role in a balanced diet.
- Minerals help prevent the blood and tissue fluids in the body from becoming too acid or too alkaline. They also enable other nutrients to enter the bloodstream, and they help transport these nutrients to the cells by the electrolysis process, as described in the Benefit of Drinking Water page. If your blood concentration of important minerals changes, your can endanger your life.
What about fats and cholesterol?
You will be surprised to learn that fats are essential to our good health too and a necessary part of a balanced diet – especially good, natural fats.
According to Dr. F. Batmanghelidj’s book Obesity Cancer & Depression: Their Common Cause & Natural Cure, the statement that “bad” cholesterol causes heart disease is wrong and unscientific.
He states that cholesterol deposits do not cause blockage of the blood veins – the culprit is actually dehydration! We get cholesterol deposits in the arteries from dehydration, not from over consumption of cholesterol.
If you drink adequate amounts of water every day, take the required amount of salt, and get plenty of exercise, preferably in the open air and under good light, your body will begin to adjust its own intake of proteins and carbohydrates, as well as its fat requirements to use for energy.
